A Family Tradition of Amazonian Plant Medicine, Passed Down Through Generations
Welcome to Yachay Wasi, the House of Knowledge.
Our family-run Ayahuasca retreat sits deep in the Peruvian Amazon, around three and a half hours by boat from Iquitos, Peru.
Here, the jungle surrounds you. The river becomes part of the journey. And generations of Amazonian knowledge continue to live on.
Yachay Wasi is more than a retreat center. It is our home.
It is where our family continues a tradition of Amazonian plant medicine that has been passed down from one generation to the next.
A Family Tradition That Continues Today
At the heart of Yachay Wasi is the legacy of Maestro Don Rómulo Magin.
Throughout his life, Don Rómulo dedicated himself to the traditions and healing practices of the Amazon. Over time, he shared his knowledge with his son, Don Winister Magin.
Today, Don Winister continues that work alongside his son, Don Winister Junior.
Together, they carry this family tradition forward.
Our family and team bring more than 130 years of combined knowledge and experience to Yachay Wasi. More importantly, we approach this work with care, responsibility, and deep respect for the traditions that guide us.
This is not something we created for visitors.
It is a way of life that has shaped our family for generations.
A Traditional Ayahuasca Retreat Near Iquitos, Peru
Many people come to the Amazon looking for something they cannot find in everyday life. Some seek clarity. Others seek emotional release or personal insight. Some simply feel called to reconnect with themselves and nature.
At Yachay Wasi, we welcome each person as an individual.
Our Ayahuasca center in Peru take place in a peaceful and natural setting, far from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Here, you can slow down, reflect, and immerse yourself in the Amazon rainforest.
However, the journey is about more than the ceremonies. We also believe in the importance of preparation, rest, reflection, and integration.
For this reason, our team provides personal guidance throughout your stay. We take the time to get to know our guests and support them throughout their experience.
Healing Rooted in Amazonian Tradition
At Yachay Wasi, we approach Ayahuasca ceremonies and traditional healing practices with care and respect. Our work draws on generations of experience with Amazonian plant medicine. At the same time, we understand that every person’s journey is different. There is no single path.
Each guest arrives with their own experiences, questions, intentions, and hopes. Therefore, we believe personal attention matters. The jungle also plays an important role in the experience. The sounds of the rainforest. The movement of the river. The presence of the plants.
Together, they create a space where you can step away from your usual routines and focus on your journey.
Beyond the Ceremony
The ceremony is an important part of the experience. However, the journey does not end when the ceremony is over. That is why integration is an essential part of our approach.
After your ceremonies, you have time to rest, reflect, and process your experiences. You can also speak with our team and receive personal support throughout your stay.
In addition, the peaceful environment of our center gives you space to simply be present. There is no need to rush. Instead, you can take time to listen, reflect, and reconnect.
Ayahuasca Retreats and Master Plant Dietas
Yachay Wasi offers different opportunities to experience traditional Amazonian plant medicine in the heart of the Peruvian rainforest. You may join us for an Ayahuasca retreat, a traditional master plant dieta, or a more personalized experience. Each path offers something different.
However, they all share the same foundation: respect for the traditions, respect for the plants, and personal attention to each guest. Because every journey is unique, we encourage you to explore the different experiences we offer and find the one that feels right for you.
